Smokeless Alternatives

Getting Ready to Quit:

You may be already quit or rapidly approaching your quit date. The first couple weeks quit will be the most difficult but you can prepare to make it easier. Identify three places where you have the strongest urge to chew or dip and make sure you are ready with an alternative. Alternatives can vary from herbal snuff and gum to seeds and fruit.

Why use an alternative?

Smokeless tobacco users often get used to having something in their mouths during certain activities, in the past this may have been dip or chew. During the quitting process replacing smokeless with an alternative such as herbal snuff or sunflower seeds helps with the mental part of the craving and help you stay tobacco free.


Herbal Alternatives

Herbal Snuff, Snus or Dip is made to resemble regular dip but does not have any tobacco or nicotine. Ingredients vary from mint to coffee, and some products do contain caffeine. Most herbal alternative products are completely safe for human consumption but check the ingredients to make sure are not allergic to anything.
